2 by Castle Hill Special Needs School, Huddersfield, west Yorkshire, England - created using natural food dyes to dye recylced cotton and then combined with other recycled materials and woven through plastic fencing. The themes behind the panels were the pupils own personal dreams of a better future.
2 by All Saints Catholic High School, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England - created using hand felting, entrapment, braiding, crochet, applique and hand embroidery. The pupils were inspired by either world issues or own personal dreams.
1.5 by Netherhall Learning Campus, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, England - created using hand felting, entrapment, braiding, crochet, applique and hand embroidery. The pupils were inspired by either world issues or own personal dreams. Half of one of these panels was created by students from the first year Textile Craft degree at Huddersfield University. They responded to an optional breif to create the work.
Students from 2nd year Textile Crafts BA (hons) volunteered to run textile based workshops in schools around the local area of Huddersfield to assist the pupils to create their panels.
